Overview

The IEBC in Barcelona offers a professional course of 900 hours, leading to certification as a Therapist/Operator in Craniosacral Biodynamics.

The certificate is accredited by the Spanish Association of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (AETBC).

We offer a comprehensive teaching program oriented towards the Biodynamic model, covering the basic principles and concepts that allow the practitioner to connect with the inherent health of the organism and support it from within.

Training in Craniosacral Biodynamics is based on developing sensory perception through manual contact, in order to recognize the resource state of the system, focus on Underlying Health, and collaborating with it to restore the conditions disrupted by trauma, pathologies, and stress.

The art of listening with the hands is combined with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and embryology, providing students with opportunities for personal experience and growth in a stress-free environment.

The development of the content and teaching methods for this training is inspired by the work of the creator of osteopathy, Andrew T. Still, the pioneering work of the creator of cranial osteopathy, Dr. William Garner Sutherland, and his student Dr. Becker, along with the integrative approach of James Jealous, Franklyn Sills, and the contributions and inspirations of Bhadrena Tschumi, Kavi Gemin, Cristina Ratti, Sarjan Surya Nolla, and Mª Angeles Paredes.

General Information

Who is this training for?

  • For individuals dedicated to bodywork and healthcare professionals.
  • People interested in redirecting their lives toward a new profession.
  • Anyone interested in self-exploration and research oriented toward the unitary consciousness of body-mind-spirit.
  • Also for craniosacral therapists who wish to be trained in the Biodynamic approach.

The teaching system includes:

  • Movement exercises, creative expression, and meditation.
  • Exercises for the development of consciousness and perceptual skills.
  • Presentations and oral lectures.
  • Theoretical and practical teaching materials for each level.
  • Demonstration sessions and guided practice.
  • Small group work.
  • Student support from tutors.

The training program consists of a holistic and comprehensive curriculum. The training methodology is structured into 3 learning levels developed over 22 seminars.

BASIC LEVEL

El The Basic Level consists of 6 seminars, each lasting 2 days.

No prior therapeutic knowledge is required to take this level.

The student receives the theoretical and practical foundations of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, including its principles, tools, and key concepts of the practice. It allows them to recognize and support the expression of the human system's self-regulatory capacities (Primary Respiration) as an effective and powerful tool for use with friends, family, or as an excellent added value to their current professional practice.

Receiving and integrating the information and practice provided in this first level is essential for future professional development.

ADVANCED LEVEL

The Advanced Level consists of 8 seminars: 4 seminars of 2 days each and 4 seminars of 3 days each.

Completion of the Basic Level is required to take this level. The student learns specific therapeutic skills, expanding their potential, and becomes able to facilitate treatments by supporting inherent health forces from specific areas of the body.

PROFESSIONAL LEVEL

The Professional Level consists of 8 seminars: 4 of them lasting 2 days each, 3 of 3 days each and 1 lasting 6 days (this last one in a residential format).

Completion of both the Basic Level and the Advanced Level is required to take this level. The Biodynamic Craniosacral professional solidifies their skills and understanding of the techniques by recognizing different levels of tissue perception. Having integrated the knowledge learned, they instill confidence in their clients, demonstrating that they are highly qualified in this therapeutic modality to provide professional support for various health conditions.

A total of 55 days

The complete training program spans 2 and a half years, with 495 hours of in-person sessions and 405 hours of practice and study.

The following material is included:

  • 3 books, one for each level.
  • Extra anatomy annexes.
  • All classes recorded in audio format available to students.
  • All images used in PowerPoint presentations available to students.
Personalized Support

Each student will be assigned an assistant or tutor who will guide and support them throughout the entire training process on a personalized basis. They will offer advice and mentoring for a better development and understanding of the syllabus and practice.

Supervised practice sessions with external clients, feedback sessions, and written knowledge tests will be conducted.

Certification Requirements:

Complete a total of 809 hours distributed as follows:

  • 495 hours of in-person seminars.
  • 150 documented practice hours between seminars.
  • 20 sessions of Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy received from qualified practitioners (not included in the training cost; 3 are recommended before beginning. Between 50€ and 70€ each depending on the practitioner).
  • 20 exchange sessions with classmates outside of training hours.
  • 6 hours of supervision with teachers or tutors (3 supervisions are included in the training, and 3 are not included in the training cost).
  • 8h of group supervisión, divided in two meetings of 4h each, price not including in the training cost (70€ per meeting).

Personalized support from assistants and tutors is provided for each student, and we will also carry out online follow-ups through periodic virtual meetings.

100% attendance at the in-person seminars is required. In the event of being unable to attend any of the seminars, it is possible to arrange a make-up session with the IEBC teachers and tutors, with the student covering any associated costs. The only exception is the residential seminar, which cannot be made up; it can only be repeated when it is offered again in a future training cycle.

It is only possible to retake a maximum of 25% of the seminars (up to 5 seminars).

Upon completing the 3rd level and meeting all certification requirements, the participant will be recognized as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist and will be eligible to become a Therapist member of the AETBC, where they will have access to postgraduate courses and will be able to practice professionally as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist (TBCS), endorsed by the AETBC.
